Superfresh Park

A little park with a big story.

The rejuvenation of Superfresh Park is a story of community and collaboration. Having served its community for 70 years, the little park had begun to show its age. The response was a collaboration between Nutana Community Association, Varsity View Community Association and the City of Saskatoon to reimagine the park and breathe new life into this longtime community hub. The City of Saskatoon had secured funding through Canada 150 to support the replacement of play structures but the community knew it would take a more holistic approach to realize the potential of the space. A campaign, led by tireless and dedicated volunteers, resulted in significant private donations and grant funding through the Community Initiatives Fund. The additional capital allowed the redesign to transform the space of the park, taking advantage of its natural features. Simple, playful asphalt mounds, a naturalized hill and sculptural climbing structure elevate this park from the everyday. We were honoured to work with such a dedicated group to prepare this little park for 70 more years serving its community.
