Pivot House

A sensitive infill, in an established neighborhood, with a twist.

Pivot House is a two storey infill in Saskatoon. Conceptually the home is composed of two volumes stacked one on top of the other. The top volume pivots about the central stair to achieve desired lines of sight and to create connections between separate zones of the house. A rear terrace and front entry are carved out of the lower level and sheltered by the cantilevered volume above. The two volumes join together in the living room creating a double height space at the front of the house.
